I think the difference between a job and a career is, a job is something you just get up and go to to make some money but a career is something you enjoy doing whether it be dental assisting like myself or anything else like massage therapist.

You have a GREAT viewpoint Ricki - and by the way I'm glad to see you back and in full swing! I think the difference between a job and career is doors of opportunity. A job will typically open no doors of opportunity or offer you any room for advancement. However, a career is exactly the opposite. A career will bring you building block experience and with each building block you will have doors of opportunity/advancement open up... It really is an amazing.. Not to mention, in my case, my career is something that I get to do every day! Not something I have to do simply because I have to pay the bills.

Well.... A job is something you really don't want to do and just hate getting up to do it, pretty much you just do it to make ends met, however; a career is a something you actually want to do you strive in it and you love it and most of the time you'd do it for free if you had to

I have had jobs and they do pay the bills but they don't inspire you to make a difference and to care about utilizing your knowledge to make changes and to help people and in my case animals.

The different between a job and a career is a job u have to have to pay bills and get things achieved to put money in ur pocket a shot term goal. A career is something you love to do and dont work for the money its a passion you want to do for that career something you want to do for a very long time in life and make a retirement plan off this career. Thats the differents between a job and a career.

Tiara and Sarah - it sounds to me like for both of you, the difference doesn't have anything to do with the paycheck... for you it's all about where your own passion lies. I know that's the case for me too! I wouldn't do what I do if I didn't absolutely LOVE it!!! Good for you for taking that step to do what you love!! It will pay off (literally, in your paycheck) in the end, and you'll love every day of it!!!
Congratulations!
